Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Punky Lion
Punky Lion is a strain bred by Samsara Seeds. As parents, the manufacturer names an unspecified bestseller hybrid with a very high yield and a North Alaskan Chocolate Indica, which it highlights for its intensely chocolatey aroma; it gives the type as 100% Indica. The result is a compact plant with thick central colas, short internodes and a resin production that Samsara Seeds compares to a snowstorm. One special feature: in some cases flowers form directly on the leaves. According to the manufacturer, the THC content is 18%, and it does not state a CBD value. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. Other strains from the breeder in our range are Holy Grail 69 and El Alquimista.
Who Is Punky Lion For?
Punky Lion is a compact, fast-flowering Indica with plenty of resin. It suits:
- Growers with small rooms – the manufacturer calls its structure ideal for them
- SOG growers who rely on thick central colas
- Outdoor gardeners looking for a strain that is resistant to mould, pests and drought
- Lovers of unusual aromas with dark chocolate and citrus
- Consumers who appreciate a deeply relaxing effect in the evening
It is less suitable for the daytime: the manufacturer describes the effect as physical and narcotic. You can find more strains of this type under feminised Indica strains.
Growing Punky Lion: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Samsara Seeds, Punky Lion flowers for 50 to 55 days and delivers up to 600 g/m². According to the manufacturer, the compact structure with short internodes and thick main colas makes the strain ideal for the Sea of Green and for small rooms. The breeder does not state a height in centimetres. Because the flowers are dense and heavily coated in resin, good air movement is worthwhile in the final weeks; a carbon filter keeps the sweet smell in check. As a photoperiod strain, it only goes into flower after the switch to 12/12. You will find the basics on climate and growing methods in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Punky Lion is ready for harvest in late September and yields up to 900 g per plant. Samsara Seeds describes the strain as very resistant to mould, pests and drought. The early harvest and this robustness are an advantage outside; a sunny location nevertheless remains the best prerequisite for full flowers. Support the heavy main colas before they start to lean. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Punky Lion
Samsara Seeds describes the scent as sweet and delicately citrusy with a noble woody note and a trace of dark chocolate. In the flavour, chocolate and wood come through more strongly, rounded off by a fresh citrus finish. The manufacturer speaks of chocolate-citrus terpenes but does not state a lab terpene profile. The effect is considered deeply relaxing, physical and pleasantly narcotic – according to the strain description, a strain for relaxed nights and for winding down after a long day. Samsara Seeds gives the THC content as 18%; the breeder does not state a CBD value. The strong body effect is a reason to enjoy the strain in the evening rather than earlier. How intense it is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
