Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Pure Kush
Pure Kush is not a cross of several strains but a pure line: Original Sensible Seeds built it from selected landrace genetics from the Hindu Kush and lists it as 100% Indica. The breeder counts it among its favourites and explains this with the typical couch-lock effect of a good Kush. It gives the THC content as 22% and calls the strain incredibly potent because of its pure genetics; it does not state a CBD value. According to the manufacturer, the plants are decidedly robust and tolerant. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. For comparison: a Hindu Kush line from another breeder is Hindu Kush by Sensi Seeds; you can find more pure Indicas under 100% Indica.
Who Is Pure Kush For?
Pure Kush is a classic, heavy Indica. It suits:
- Kush lovers looking for earthy, spicy aromas with a hash note
- Growers who want to grow a pure Indica line instead of a hybrid
- Indoor gardeners with space for plants 100 to 160 cm tall
- Outdoor growers who would like to harvest from late September to early October
- Consumers who prefer a deeply relaxing, body-focused effect
It is less suitable for anyone who wants to stay active after consumption – the manufacturer describes a pronounced couch-lock effect. You can find more original lines under Classics and Landraces.
Growing Pure Kush: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
When it comes to flowering time, the manufacturer is not consistent: the data sheet states 45 to 55 days, while elsewhere Original Sensible Seeds speaks of 55 to 60 days. So it is better to plan for the longer period and decide by the ripeness of the trichomes. The breeder gives the indoor height as 100 to 160 cm and the yield as 400 to 550 g/m². According to its description, the strain only really comes into its own in the grow room. The aromatic flowers become dense; ensure good air movement in the final weeks and use an activated carbon filter against the spicy smell. You will find more on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Pure Kush grows 120 to 180 cm tall and is generally ready for harvest from late September to early October. Under optimal conditions, Original Sensible Seeds states up to 700 g per plant in good quality. The breeder describes the strain as robust and very tolerant; a sunny, sheltered spot supports ripening. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Pure Kush
The manufacturer describes the aroma of Pure Kush as earthy and spicy with pine, warm herbal notes and peppery hash. Original Sensible Seeds names myrcene, caryophyllene and pinene as the dominant terpenes, and the data sheet additionally lists limonene. The effect is that of a heavy Indica: the breeder speaks of relaxation throughout the body and of a couch-lock effect that leaves consumers happy and wonderfully relaxed. At 22% THC the strain is potent; the manufacturer does not give a CBD value. This makes it more something for quiet hours than for active days. How strong its effect is in an individual case depends on dose and individual tolerance.
