Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Royal Runtz
For Royal Runtz, Royal Queen Seeds drew on North American breeding material: Gelato and Zkittlez, two strains that the breeder describes as particularly rich in THC and terpenes. After the cross, the best phenotypes were selected; the result is a balanced hybrid with 50% Indica and 50% Sativa. Royal Queen Seeds gives the THC content as 27%; the CBD content is low. The manufacturer describes the genetics as robust and durable, with good results in different environments. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. A Runtz from a different breeding line is Runtz by Barney's Farm; Royal Queen Seeds also offers Sweet ZZ, also known as Sweet Zkittlez.
Who Is Royal Runtz For?
Royal Runtz is a very potent hybrid with an aroma of sweets. It suits:
- Experienced growers looking for a strain with a very high THC content
- Indoor growers with room for plants 90 to 130 cm tall
- Outdoor gardeners in a mild climate who grow in tubs or raised beds
- Lovers of sweet, fruity candy aromas
- Consumers with tolerance who want to combine body relaxation and creative energy
Because of its very high THC content of 27%, Royal Runtz is less suitable for a first grow and for consumers without THC experience. You can find strains in large packs under Bulk Seeds.
Growing Royal Runtz: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Royal Runtz grows 90 to 130 cm tall and flowers for 8 to 9 weeks. Royal Queen Seeds states 450 to 500 g/m². The strain reaches a medium size and, according to the manufacturer, comes with robust genetics that deliver good results regardless of the environment. The breeder gives no specific training advice. Good air movement in the final weeks of flowering and a carbon filter against the intense fruit aroma make sense. In the shop, Royal Runtz is rated as a strain for experienced growers because of its very high THC content. You will find the basics on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Royal Runtz grows 160 to 180 cm tall when it grows in large containers or raised beds. The manufacturer states 400 to 450 g per plant and mid-October as the harvest time; it gives the climate as mild. Royal Queen Seeds recommends surrounding the grow with companion plants to keep pests away. Because the harvest is not due until mid-October, a location with a dry, mild autumn is an advantage. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Royal Runtz
According to Royal Queen Seeds, the aroma of Royal Runtz is reminiscent of a lavish fruit salad, and the flavour is sweet and fruity; the data sheet lists Candy and Fruity for it. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. According to its description, the effect appeals to body and mind in equal measure: the body relaxes deeply while a wave of creative energy passes through the head. The data sheet sums it up as euphoric and uplifting. At 27% THC the strain is very strong – the breeder points out that a few puffs are enough for the inexperienced, while a whole joint keeps even seasoned users occupied for hours. So start low; the intensity depends on dose and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
