Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Runtz Gum
Original Sensible Seeds presents Runtz Gum as its newest Zkittlez cross from the US West Coast. Zkittlez and Grapefruit Bubblegum are given as the parent strains. The breeder itself sums up the flavour as grapefruit bubblegum; according to the manufacturer, the plants reach a medium height. The ratio is 60% Sativa and 40% Indica; the manufacturer speaks of Sativa-dominant seeds with a nice Indica balance. The THC content is given as 28%, and Original Sensible Seeds does not state a CBD value. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. For comparison, you will find a Zkittlez in our range as a strain in its own right.
Who Is Runtz Gum For?
Runtz Gum combines a candy aroma with very high potency and big yield figures. It suits:
- Lovers of sweet, fruity strains with a grapefruit and bubblegum note
- Consumers with tolerance who can gauge 28% THC
- Indoor growers who work towards high yields per square metre
- Outdoor gardeners who can put their plants directly into the ground
- Creative people looking for a euphoric, Sativa-leaning effect
If you are looking for a mild strain or want to harvest after just eight weeks, you are less well served by Runtz Gum – it flowers for 70 days. You can find more Sativa-leaning strains under Sativa strains.
Growing Runtz Gum: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Original Sensible Seeds, Runtz Gum flowers for 70 days, i.e. ten weeks from the switch to 12/12. The plants reach a medium height, which the breeder does not quantify in centimetres. As yield, it states up to 700 g/m². To carry that much flower mass, the shoots need support – a net or stakes prevent them from snapping in the final weeks. Good air movement and controlled humidity protect the flowers in the long final phase, and the sweet aroma makes a carbon filter sensible. You will find the basics on training and climate in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
The breeder lists Runtz Gum for indoors as well as outdoors. For outdoors, the data sheet states 1,000 g per plant; elsewhere the manufacturer even speaks of a few kilos per plant when it stands directly in the ground. To be on the safe side, reckon with the lower value. Original Sensible Seeds does not give a harvest month or a height for outdoors; October is given as the harvest time. With ten weeks of flowering, the strain needs a sunny location with a long autumn. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Runtz Gum
According to Original Sensible Seeds, Runtz Gum tastes sweet and fruity, with citrus notes of grapefruit and tart strawberries – a profile that, according to the breeder, is reminiscent of the sweet to which the strain owes its name. The flavour is summed up as grapefruit bubblegum. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile, nor does it list individual terpenes. It describes the effect as euphoric and fitting for creative undertakings; it attributes this to the ratio of 60% Sativa to 40% Indica. In addition, it is also described as relaxing. With 28% THC, Runtz Gum is very potent. Anyone who is not used to such values should dose low and wait for the effect. How strong it is in an individual case depends on dose and individual tolerance.
