Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Sensi Star
Sensi Star is the strain that helped Paradise Seeds achieve its breakthrough. It came onto the market in 1995, was further improved in 1997 and, according to the breeder, won the High Life Cup and the High Times Cannabis Cup in a single year; the cup list gives both titles for 1999. In total, Paradise Seeds names over 15 cups at major competitions. The breeder does not specify named parent strains: it describes Sensi Star as a cross of Afghan and Indian landraces with a classic Skunk influence, as an almost pure Indica with 90% Indica and 10% Sativa. It counts among the “white” strains because the flowers are densely coated with resin crystals. The manufacturer gives the THC content as 24%. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. From the same house, you will also find Wappa by Paradise Seeds in our range.
Who Is Sensi Star For?
Sensi Star is an old-school classic for Indica lovers. It suits:
- Growers with little space who are looking for a small, stocky plant
- Fans of Sea of Green and Screen of Green
- Collectors of award-winning classics
- Outdoor gardeners in sunny, southern locations
- Consumers with a high tolerance who appreciate a strong, long-lasting body effect
If you are looking for a light, clear strain for the daytime, this is not really the place for you: the manufacturer describes a hard body hit that sends you to the couch. You can find more classics under Classics and Landraces.
Growing Sensi Star: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Sensi Star flowers for 56 to 63 days, i.e. 8 to 9 weeks; Paradise Seeds states 400 g/m². The plant stays smaller than many other strains, grows fat and stocky and forms bushy branches with dense Indica flowers – this allows the available space to be put to good use. According to the breeder, it does extremely well in soil as well as in hydro systems. It was bred as a multi-branched single plant, but according to the manufacturer it also works exceptionally well in a Sea of Green and in a Screen of Green, where the side branches contribute to the size of the harvest. With the very compact flowers, good air movement is worthwhile. You will find the basics on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Sensi Star grows into lush bushes and is ready for harvest in early October in the northern hemisphere. Paradise Seeds gives 600 g per plant and recommends growing between 50 degrees northern and southern latitude. Plenty of sun pays off: according to the breeder, the strain is particularly popular in the south of France and in Spain. In cooler locations, a sheltered, sunny spot is important. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Sensi Star
Paradise Seeds describes the flavour as partly metallic, partly minty, overlaid by a distinct sweetness; in the data sheet the aroma is given as lemony, metallic and sharp. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. Sensi Star became known for its effect: the breeder counts it among the most potent strains of all and describes a heavy, long-lasting body effect. On top of that comes a Sativa kick that gives the stoned feeling an invigorating head note – the data sheet sums this up as “strong, body and head note”. According to Paradise Seeds, the THC value is 24% and, according to the manufacturer, was measured at over 20% in many cases. So start with small amounts. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
