Shiva Shanti Regular – 85% Indica by Sensi Seeds
What is Shiva Shanti? Shiva Shanti by Sensi Seeds is a regular, photoperiod cannabis strain with 85% Indica. It goes back to the Afghani plant Garlic Bud, which was crossed with another old Kush strain and supplemented with a Skunk influence. The flowering time is 50 to 55 days, and the manufacturer describes the yield as high. Long, firm, spear-shaped flowers, a sharp garlic scent with a honey note and a deep, relaxing effect are typical. The strain suits lovers of classic Indicas and selectors who work with male and female plants – in the regular seeds category. Available in a pack of 10 seeds.

Genetics & Origin of Shiva Shanti
Shiva Shanti dates from the early nineties. At that time, two important collections of breeding plants were merged, and the Seed Bank became the Sensi Seed Bank. To celebrate, Sensi Seeds released several new strains; Shiva Shanti was the first of them and is named after Ben Dronkers' twin daughters. The basis is an old-school Afghani called Garlic Bud. Its traits were reinforced by crossing it with another traditional Kush strain, and on top of that comes a recessive Skunk influence. Sensi Seeds states 85% Indica and lists the strain as a Cannabis Cup winner, without giving a year or category. The seeds are regular and photoperiod. The breeder also lists classic Afghani and Skunk lines individually, such as Afghani Nr.1 Regular and Skunk Nr. 1 Regular.
Who Is Shiva Shanti For?
Shiva Shanti is a classic Indica with a short flowering time and a distinctive smell. It suits:
- Lovers of old Afghani and Kush lines
- Growers who value little odour during flowering
- Indoor growers who would like to harvest after 50 to 55 days of flowering
- Selectors and hobby breeders who work with regular seeds
- Consumers looking for a deep, body-focused effect
If you expect fruity-sweet aromas or exclusively female plants without selection, this strain is less of a fit. You can find more traditional lines under Classics and Landraces.
Growing Shiva Shanti: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Sensi Seeds gives the flowering time as 50 to 55 days; as a photoperiod strain, Shiva Shanti only begins this after the switch to 12/12. According to the manufacturer, it grows vigorously and uniformly, flowers very reliably and ripens rapidly. On growth, the manufacturer makes two different statements: it calls the plant tall on the one hand and compact on the other – a height in centimetres is missing. Sensi Seeds describes the yield as high without stating grams per square metre; what you harvest are long, firm, spear-shaped flowers. Practical for indoor growing: during flowering the strain develops only relatively little odour. As the seeds are regular, you determine the sex in pre-flowering and remove male plants if pollination is not wanted. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
For open ground, Sensi Seeds names a sunny, Mediterranean climate. Sensi Seeds does not give a harvest date, a height or a yield per plant. In cooler regions, a sheltered spot in full sun or a greenhouse is the safe choice. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Shiva Shanti
Shiva Shanti smells different from most modern strains: Sensi Seeds describes a sharp, slightly sour smell of fresh garlic, which it has inherited from its parents. Added to this is the rich honey aroma of its Skunk ancestor. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. During flowering, according to the breeder, the smell is comparatively weak. Sensi Seeds describes the effect as deep and absolutely stress-free; it is also said to heighten physical sensations. The breeder does not state a THC value; it merely speaks of the power the strain has been given by its parents. With regular seeds, individual plants can differ slightly. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
