Genetics & Origin of Suguz
For Suguz, R-Kiem crossed its in-house Platinum ZOG with an Ice Cream Cake male and then carried the line forward through backcrossing and selection to the Bx3 stage. The breeder therefore gives the genetics as (Platinum Zog × Ice Cream Cake) Bx3 and describes a 50/50 hybrid of Indica and Sativa whose plants grow in a balanced and vigorous way. The strain is listed as THC-dominant; R-Kiem does not state percentage values for THC or CBD. The seeds are regular and photoperiod: male and female plants emerge, which makes Suguz interesting for selection and breeding work of your own, and flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. You will find an Ice Cream Cake as a strain in its own right in our range; Hibiscus Regular comes from the same breeder.
Who Is Suguz For?
Suguz is a high-yielding, resinous 50/50 hybrid from regular seed. It suits:
- Selectors who want to choose a mother plant from ten regular seeds
- Hobby breeders who would like to carry on working with a line backcrossed to Bx3
- Extraction enthusiasts – the breeder highlights resin production and terpene richness
- Indoor growers who plan for 9 weeks of flowering and two weeks of stretch
- Lovers of fruity, creamy aromas with a relaxing effect
If you want only female plants without any selection work, a feminised strain is the better choice. You can find more regular strains for growing outdoors under regular outdoor seeds.
Growing Suguz: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to R-Kiem, Suguz is finished after 9 weeks of flowering. After the change of light cycle it keeps stretching vigorously for around two weeks – so leave enough distance to the lamp or tie the shoots down in good time. The breeder states 600 to 700 g/m²; it does not give a plant height in cm. Because these are regular seeds, you germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep and determine the sex in pre-flowering; you remove male plants unless pollination is wanted. The resinous flowers with their thick calyxes benefit from good air movement. You will find the basics on training and climate in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
In open ground, R-Kiem describes vigorous, high-yielding plants that are ready for harvest in mid-October. The breeder does not state a height or a yield per plant. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot, allow enough space because of the vigorous growth and support heavy side shoots in good time. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Suguz
R-Kiem describes the flowers as dark-leaved, with large, fleshy and swollen calyxes that are completely covered in resin. According to the breeder, the aroma is fruity and creamy, intense and lingering. R-Kiem highlights the richness in terpenes but does not name any individual terpenes; because of the resin production, the breeder expressly recommends the strain for extractions. The effect is described as relaxing and positive, and it is said to promote a good mood. R-Kiem does not give a THC value, and we do not add an estimate. With regular seeds, individual plants can also differ from one another. How intense the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and individual tolerance.
