Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Sunday Punch
For Sunday Punch, Delicious Seeds crossed the strains Sunday Driver and Trophy Wife. FPOG, Grape Pie, The Wife and Cherry Wine are named as ancestors of these lines. According to the manufacturer's information, the sweetness and the bright flavour come from Sunday Driver, the fruity, elegant notes from Trophy Wife. The breeder gives the genotype as 60% Sativa and 40% Indica: the plant grows in typical Sativa fashion without becoming excessively tall, but forms its flowers in the Indica manner. The data sheet states 24% THC, while elsewhere the manufacturer speaks of over 24%; in addition there are CBD and CBG at up to 1%. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. You can find more hybrids of this kind under feminised seeds.
Who Is Sunday Punch For?
Sunday Punch combines high yields with a strong THC content. It suits:
- Growers who are aiming for over 600 g/m² indoors, as stated by the manufacturer
- Outdoor gardeners with plenty of space and a season lasting until mid-October
- Lovers of sweet aromas of caramel and ripe fruit
- Fans of light green and purple flowers densely covered in trichomes
- Consumers with experience who can gauge 24% THC
It is less suitable if you have to grow inconspicuously: Delicious Seeds rates the odour intensity as very high. You can find similarly high-yielding strains under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Sunday Punch: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
In the grow room, according to Delicious Seeds, Sunday Punch flowers for 55 to 65 days after the switch to 12/12. The manufacturer states a yield of over 600 g/m². It does not give a height in centimetres; it describes the growth as Sativa-like but not excessively tall. The light green and purple flowers are densely covered in trichomes. Because the smell is rated as very strong, a generously sized activated carbon filter is part of the equipment, and steady air movement keeps the flowers dry in the final weeks. The breeder rates the resistance to mould and pests as high. You will find the basics on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Sunday Punch ripens in mid-October. For the yield per plant, the manufacturer's figures are not consistent: depending on which figure you go by, Delicious Seeds states more than 1,200 g or more than 1,500 g. Such quantities require plenty of root space, full sun and sturdy supports for the side shoots. The breeder does not state a plant height for outdoors. As harvest falls in autumn, an airy spot sheltered from the wind is an advantage. You can find more strains for open ground under outdoor seeds. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Sunday Punch
For the flavour, Delicious Seeds lists four notes: caramel, earth, ripe fruit and sweet lime. The breeder attributes the sweetness and the bright tone to Sunday Driver, the fruity side to Trophy Wife. The odour intensity is given as very high. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as euphoric, balanced and relaxing – a balance between relaxation and euphoria that it attributes to the CBD and CBG content of up to 1% alongside the high THC value. At 24% THC, Sunday Punch is one of the strong strains; so feel your way in with small amounts. How intense the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
