Sunset Paradise Seeds – Gelato Variant by Paradise Seeds
What is Sunset Paradise? Sunset Paradise by Paradise Seeds is a feminised, photoperiod variant of Gelato (Thin Mint GSC × Sunset Sherbert) with 60% Indica and 40% Sativa. According to the manufacturer, it flowers for around 50 to 60 days, grows about 100 cm tall indoors and yields 400 to 450 g/m² with 28% THC. Aromas of lavender, orange and raspberry, red-purple colours and an effect that is first euphoric, then strongly physical are typical. Because of its very high THC content, we classify it as a strain for experienced growers – in the Indica strains category. Available in packs of 3 and 10 seeds.

Genetics & Origin of Sunset Paradise
Sunset Paradise is the Paradise Seeds variant of Gelato, which the breeder gives as Thin Mint GSC × Sunset Sherbert. According to the manufacturer, Thin Mint GSC, formerly known as Girl Scout Cookies, stands for high potency from combined Sativa and Indica traits; it describes Sunset Sherbert as a hybrid with similar roots that contains Durban Poison and OG Kush. The line was developed further in the in-house breeding programme to increase flavour and potency. The result is an Indica-dominant hybrid with 60% Indica and 40% Sativa, 28% THC and less than 0.1% CBD. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. If you would like to compare a Gelato from another breeder, you will find Gelato by Nirvana in our range.
Who Is Sunset Paradise For?
Sunset Paradise combines dessert aromas with striking colouring; in the shop it is classified as a strain for experienced growers. It suits:
- Experienced growers looking for a colourful Gelato line
- Indoor growers with a small space who need plants around one metre tall
- Outdoor gardeners in more northerly regions who want an Indica with an open growth habit
- Lovers of lavender, citrus and berry aromas
- Experienced consumers who appreciate a long-lasting, body-focused effect
It is less suitable for a first grow and for inexperienced consumers – Paradise Seeds expressly emphasises the latter. You can find more feminised strains for indoors under indoor seeds.
Growing Sunset Paradise: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
For flowering, Paradise Seeds states 50 to 55 days, elsewhere 56 to 60 days – so plan for around eight weeks and a little leeway. The plants stay compact and, according to the breeder, should not grow taller than one metre, which makes them interesting for smaller growing areas. Unlike many bushy Indicas, Sunset Paradise grows more openly; stems and leaves glow red and purple. The manufacturer gives the yield as 450 g/m², and as 400 g/m² in its growing statistics. The rock-hard, very resinous buds need good air movement towards the end. You will find the basics on climate and feeding in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Sunset Paradise grows around 175 cm tall and, in the northern hemisphere, ripens in early to mid-October, depending on which manufacturer figure you go by. Paradise Seeds lists it for growing between the 50th parallel north and south and, because of its open growth habit, also recommends it to Indica fans in more northerly regions. Paradise Seeds gives the yield as around 1,000 g per plant. You should support heavy side shoots in good time. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Sunset Paradise
Even during flowering, Sunset Paradise gives off a complex aroma with citrus, berry and lavender notes. According to Paradise Seeds, after drying the lavender comes to the fore and mixes with orange, raspberry and a slightly skunky sharpness; on the palate, the lavender is followed by a fruity sweetness with a hint of spiced skunk. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. According to its description, the effect begins with a strong wave of euphoria, followed by intense physical relaxation, and lasts a very long time. Paradise Seeds expressly points out that it is not for inexperienced consumers. The manufacturer gives the THC content as 28% – that is very high, so dose cautiously. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
