Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Sunset Sherbet
Sunset Sherbet by Pyramid Seeds goes back to Girl Scout Cookies: the breeder names the cross Girl Scout Cookies × Pink Panties, while the data sheet, in abbreviated form, lists only GSC, from which, as the mother, the aroma also comes according to the manufacturer. With 85% Indica and 15% Sativa the strain is clearly Indica-dominant; Pyramid Seeds describes a compact structure with dense, resin-coated flowers. The breeder gives the THC content as 22 to 24%. The CBD content is below 1%. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. Girl Scout Cookies is available as a separate strain from Barney's Farm; a Sherbet line from another breeder is Dream Sherbet by Kannabia.
Who Is Sunset Sherbet For?
Sunset Sherbet is a compact Indica hybrid with an early harvest. It suits:
- Outdoor gardeners who want to harvest as early as September
- Indoor growers who would like to be finished after 60 to 65 days of flowering
- Growers with limited room height who prefer compact plants
- Lovers of sweet aromas of citrus, berries and caramel
- Consumers who want to relax in the evening or, at a low dose, do creative work
The strain is less suitable for growers who can hardly control the climate in their grow room: the manufacturer advises caution with fungi and temperature fluctuations. You can find more strains of this kind under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Sunset Sherbet: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Pyramid Seeds gives the flowering time as 60 to 65 days; under LED, 53 to 58 days are said to be enough. The breeder states an indoor yield of 500 to 550 g/m². It describes a compact structure but gives no height in centimetres – if space is tight, keeping the vegetative phase short helps. The climate is important: according to the manufacturer, caution is advised with fungi and temperature fluctuations, and the dense flowers need dry air in late flowering. So ensure even temperatures and good air movement. You will find the basics on this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors in Europe, Sunset Sherbet is ready for harvest in September. Pyramid Seeds states 0.75 to 1 kg per plant; the breeder gives no height in centimetres. Choose a sunny, airy spot so that the dense flowers dry quickly after rain, and support heavy side shoots in good time. You can find more strains for outdoors under feminised outdoor seeds. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Sunset Sherbet
According to Pyramid Seeds, the aroma comprises citrus fruits, berries and caramel and comes from the mother, GSC; the breeder also speaks of sweet berry-citrus notes with a creamy dessert undertone. As terpenes it names limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene. The manufacturer describes the effect as powerful and long-lasting: it lifts the mood and leads to mental and physical relaxation. At a low dose it is said to stimulate the mind and be suitable for creative activities; otherwise, relaxation after a long day is to the fore. Pyramid Seeds puts the THC content at 22 to 24%, and the CBD content is below 1%. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
