Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Sunsetz
Sunsetz comes from the seed programme of the US brand Cookies and crosses Runtz with Sunset Sherbet. The breeder sums up the pedigree with three names: Gelato, Z and Sherb. Cookies lists the strain as a hybrid; the manufacturer does not state an Indica or Sativa share, nor any values for THC and CBD. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the switch to 12/12. According to the breeder, you can expect several plants worth keeping in every pack – a pointer for anyone who wants to select a mother plant. The parent strains are also available individually from other breeders, for example Runtz by Barney's Farm and Sunset Sherbet by Pyramid Seeds.
Who Is Sunsetz For?
Sunsetz is aimed at growers for whom resin, colour and aroma matter. It suits:
- Fans of Runtz and Sherbet lines who are looking for both in one plant
- Indoor growers who want to harvest after 8 to 9 weeks of flowering
- Growers who prefer bushy, wide growth to tall plants
- Selectors who would like to pick a keeper plant from a small pack
- Lovers of purple-tinged, resin-rich flowers
Sunsetz is less suitable if you want to place many plants close together – the lateral growth needs space. You can find more strains for tents and grow rooms under feminised indoor strains.
Growing Sunsetz: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Cookies states 8 to 9 weeks of flowering for Sunsetz and an indoor yield of 400 to 450 g/m². The manufacturer does not state a height. The breeder describes the plants as somewhat bushier and with stronger lateral growth; so give them enough space and thin out the interior so that air can reach the flowers. Topping or a net lets you make good use of the width. The flowers become sticky and resinous and show purple tones – in the final weeks, good air movement and controlled humidity pay off. You will find the basics on climate and training in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, the breeder states 500 g per plant. The manufacturer does not state the height or the harvest time outdoors. A sunny spot sheltered from the wind helps the wide-growing plants; support heavy side shoots in good time. You can find more strains for outdoors under feminised outdoor strains. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Sunsetz
The aroma of Sunsetz is described as tropical, fruity and sweet, with citrus and a creamy sweetness joining in on the palate. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The effect is considered balanced: euphoric and creatively stimulating in the head, plus physical relaxation. Above all, the breeder highlights the flowers: sticky, resinous and set off with purple. The manufacturer does not state THC or CBD values; so approach it with a small amount. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
