Genetics & Origin of Sweet Pure CBD
Sweet Pure CBD is the first “pure CBD” strain in the Sweet Seeds catalogue, where it bears the code SWS65. It was created not by crossing two strains but through two generations of self-pollination (S2) of a CBD-rich clone whose ancestors come from the Diesel family. According to the breeder, it was developed for users who do not want to experience the psychotropic effect of THC. The profile turns out accordingly: 0.4 to 1% THC, 8 to 15% CBD and a ratio of about 1:15 to 1:20. Sweet Seeds describes the plant structure as an Indica-Sativa hybrid with Sativa dominance, 60% Sativa and 40% Indica. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. For the strain, the manufacturer lists a second place in the outdoor category of the 11th Copa THC Valencia 2024. There is an autoflowering variant in the form of Auto Sweet Pure CBD.
Who Is Sweet Pure CBD For?
Sweet Pure CBD is geared towards CBD, not towards a high. It suits:
- Consumers looking for a lot of CBD with very little THC
- Growers who want to grow a CBD strain with 400 to 500 g/m²
- Outdoor gardeners who would like to harvest as early as late September
- Lovers of sweet citrus and mandarin aromas with a hint of cypress
- Indoor growers planning for 9 weeks of flowering
It is less suitable for anyone expecting a noticeable THC effect – the THC content is too low for that. You can find more strains for the garden under feminised outdoor strains.
Growing Sweet Pure CBD: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Sweet Seeds gives the indoor flowering time as 9 weeks, counted from the switch to 12/12, and states 400 to 500 g/m². The breeder gives no figure for plant height; it describes the structure as an Indica-Sativa hybrid with Sativa dominance. So keep a little headroom free and switch to flowering in good time; a net keeps the canopy flat. According to the manufacturer, the CBD content lies in a range of 8 to 15%. The sweet citrus aroma is clearly noticeable during flowering, and a carbon filter makes sense. The basics on climate and ventilation are in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to Sweet Seeds, Sweet Pure CBD is ready for harvest in late September and delivers 375 to 600 g per plant. The early harvest is an advantage in regions where October often turns out wet and cool. The breeder does not state a plant height for outdoors. Choose a sunny spot sheltered from the wind and support longer shoots before the flowers become heavy. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Sweet Pure CBD
Sweet Seeds describes the aroma as sweet and fruity with citrus notes of mandarin, shot through with a light, fresh hint of cypress. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. What matters is the cannabinoid profile: with 0.4 to 1% THC and 8 to 15% CBD, psychotropic effects are barely perceptible, according to the breeder. As keywords for the effect, it gives relaxing and cheerful. However, the strain is not entirely THC-free – according to Sweet Seeds, the content is generally below 1% but can reach up to 1%. The manufacturer gives the ratio of THC to CBD as about 1:15 to 1:20. How the strain is experienced in an individual case depends on dose and personal tolerance.
