Tangie Seeds – Mandarin Classic by DNA Genetics
What is Tangie? Tangie by DNA Genetics is a feminised, photoperiod cannabis strain bred from Cali-O × Skunk hybrid. It flowers for 8 to 9 weeks, grows tall and, according to the manufacturer, delivers very good yields; outdoors it finishes between late September and early October. Very resinous flowers with an intense citrus aroma, above all of mandarin, and a refreshing, euphoric and stimulating effect are typical. The breeder does not give figures for THC, height or yield. The strain suits citrus fans, outdoor gardeners and everyone who makes concentrates – in the Classics and Landraces category. Available in packs of 3 and 6 seeds.

Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Tangie
According to DNA Genetics, Tangie has been known for many years but long remained hidden until Crockett, a friend of the house, brought it out of his collection. Genetically, it is a cross of Cali-O and a Skunk hybrid that was given its present form after careful selection. The breeder does not state exactly which Skunk line is involved or how the Indica and Sativa shares are distributed; a THC value is missing too, and it merely describes the potency as high. According to the manufacturer, the strain delivers some of the best concentrates and took first place in ten out of ten competitions within eight months. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. A Tangie from another house is Tangie by Royal Queen Seeds.
Who Is Tangie For?
Tangie is a strain for everyone for whom aroma comes first. It suits:
- Lovers of citrus and mandarin aromas
- Extractors who process resinous flowers into concentrates
- Outdoor gardeners who would like to harvest between late September and early October
- Indoor growers who work with SCROG, SOG, topping or FIM
- Consumers who prefer a stimulating, euphoric effect
It is less suitable for very low grow rooms, as according to the manufacturer it keeps growing in height until the fifth week. You can find more strains with a stimulating character under Sativa strains.
Growing Tangie: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
DNA Genetics gives the flowering time as 8 to 9 weeks and the yield as very good – without a figure in g/m². Important for planning: according to the manufacturer, Tangie keeps growing in height until the fifth week, so the space required should be well considered. The breeder reports that the strain responds very well to SCROG and SOG and becomes bushier through topping or the FIM technique. For the best flavour experience, it recommends growing in soil. Because of the intense citrus scent of the resinous flowers, a carbon filter makes sense. There is more on training methods in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
According to DNA Genetics, Tangie is particularly well suited to growing outdoors. There the plants finish between late September and early October and, according to the breeder, deliver heavy yields with very sticky flowers. It does not state a value per plant or a height. As the strain grows tall, you should give it enough space and a sunny spot sheltered from the wind; heavily laden branches can be secured with stakes. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Tangie
Tangie smells of citrus fruit, above all of mandarin: DNA Genetics describes the scent profile as fresh, fruity and citrus-heavy, and the flavour as citrus and mandarin. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The flowers are very resinous; the breeder emphasises that Tangie produces some of the best concentrates. It sums up the effect in three terms – refreshing, euphoric and stimulating – and rates the potency as high. However, DNA Genetics does not give a THC value, which is why we do not state a figure here. If you do not yet know the strain, it is best to start with a small amount. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
