Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Tha Melon
Tha Melon belongs to the Terp Line from Karma Genetics. The lineage is given as Melon × Biker Kush; the strain is described as a combination of sweet fruit aroma and a classic, gassy OG note. Karma Genetics itself lists the strain as a hybrid and does not disclose the lineage. An Indica-dominant ratio of around 70% Indica to 30% Sativa is stated. There is no measured THC value; it is estimated at 20 to 25%. No information is available on the CBD content. Tha Melon is photoperiod and comes as regular seed: the seeds grow into male and female plants, which makes the strain interesting for selection, mother plants and crosses of your own. Because of its strong resin production, it is considered a candidate for hash and rosin. You will also find the Kush line mentioned in our range with Biker Kush Regular, likewise from Karma Genetics.
Who Is Tha Melon For?
Tha Melon is a strain for aroma hunters who enjoy selecting. It suits:
- Selectors who want to choose their mother plant from twelve regular seeds
- Hobby breeders who use male plants for their own crosses
- Extract fans looking for resin-rich material for hash and rosin
- Lovers of sweet fruit aromas with a gassy Kush finish
- Consumers who appreciate a body-focused, relaxing effect in the evening
If you want only female plants without any selection work, feminised seeds are the better choice. If you expect measured lab values for THC and terpenes, you are also less likely to find what you are looking for here.
Growing Tha Melon: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
According to Karma Genetics, the flowering time of Tha Melon is 8 to 10 weeks. The breeder rates the yield as medium to high; up to 600 g/m² is stated. The plants grow vigorously and form compact, resin-rich flowers; no height in centimetres is given. As these are regular seeds, it is best to germinate more seeds than the number of plants you want to keep later and determine the sex in pre-flowering. You remove male plants unless pollination is wanted. With dense, resinous flowers, good air movement and controlled humidity pay off in the final phase. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Tha Melon grows medium-sized to large with robust side branching. The end of September is given as harvest time, and up to 800 g per plant as yield. The same applies outside: determine the sex early and sort out male plants in good time. A sunny, sheltered spot and supports for the side branches make sense. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Tha Melon
In the scent, sweet melon meets spicy-earthy, gassy notes; the flavour is described as fruity and creamy with a typical Kush finish. The terpene profile is considered very pronounced. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The effect is described as deeply relaxing and physically heavy, accompanied by a gentle mental focus – more of an evening strain. The THC content is only estimated (20 to 25%) and, with regular seed, can vary from plant to plant, as can aroma and effect. How intense Tha Melon is in an individual case depends on the selected phenotype, the dose and your personal tolerance.
