Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Wedding Gelato
Royal Queen Seeds calls Wedding Gelato the result of a "love triangle": it starts with the cross Triangle Kush × Animal Mints, from which Wedding Cake emerged; Gelato 33 was then added. According to the manufacturer, the strain owes its 20 to 25% THC to Gelato 33, while the genetic diversity of Wedding Cake contributes most of the flavour; on the inhale it describes the sugar-sweet taste of Gelato, on the exhale the peppery notes of Wedding Cake. The data sheet lists 60% Indica and 40% Sativa; the breeder speaks of an almost balanced hybrid leaning slightly towards Indica with a low CBD content. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so they only flower after the light cycle is switched. In our range you will also find Wedding Cake from Royal Queen Seeds and, with Gelato from Nirvana, another Gelato strain.
Who Is Wedding Gelato For?
With Wedding Gelato, flavour and potency take centre stage. It suits:
- Lovers of sweet, creamy dessert aromas
- Experienced consumers who can handle 20 to 25% THC
- Indoor growers with low rooms, as the plants grow 60 to 100 cm tall
- Outdoor gardeners in warm locations with a harvest in early October
- Fans of the Cake and Gelato lines who are looking for both in one strain
It is less suitable if yield is your top priority – the focus is on flavour and potency. You can find yield-focused strains under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Wedding Gelato: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
In the grow tent, according to Royal Queen Seeds, flowering takes around 60 days; the data sheet states 8 to 9 weeks. At 60 to 100 cm, Wedding Gelato stays low. The manufacturer's yield figures are inconsistent: the data sheet gives 450 to 500 g/m², while elsewhere it states roughly 350 to 400 g/m², expressly as a medium range. The flowers grow compact like small nuggets, dark green with bright orange hairs. The manufacturer gives no training recommendations; with compact, resinous flowers, good air movement in the final weeks makes sense. You will find more on the climate in the grow room in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Wedding Gelato grows considerably larger at 130 to 200 cm and is ready for harvest in early October. The data sheet states 350 to 400 g per plant and gives the climate zone as "warm". A sunny, sheltered spot helps the strain to ripen fully by harvest; if it gets damp early in autumn in your region, pay particular attention to well-ventilated, dry flowers. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Wedding Gelato
Royal Queen Seeds describes the flavour as "super sweet" with earthy undertones: lemon, a hint of mint and vanilla create a creamy impression, joined by the peppery notes of Wedding Cake. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. According to its information, the effect sets in quickly and powerfully in the head, with waves of uplifting, euphoric energy. It then moves into the muscles, gently soothing and without paralysing heaviness; the data sheet sums it up as relaxing and euphoric. The manufacturer considers the strain enjoyable at any time of day but recommends a free afternoon. With 20 to 25% THC it is very potent; how strongly you experience it depends on dose and personal tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
