Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Y Griega CBD
Y Griega CBD is the CBD variant of Y Griega by Medical Seeds. For it, the breeder crossed the original strain with a CBD-rich line that it calls Medical #2 CBD; the strain was created in collaboration with the CBD Crew. The aim was a balanced cannabinoid profile: THC and CBD are in a 1:1 ratio, and according to the manufacturer the values can each vary between 4 and 10%. The data sheet shows 60% Sativa and 40% Indica. Medical Seeds cites two awards: second place for CBD flowers at the Fresh Cup in Zaragoza in 2019 and second place for outdoor flowers at the Copa Cata del Alto Valle in Argentina in 2021. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. You will also find the original strain as Y Griega in our range.
Who Is Y Griega CBD For?
Y Griega CBD is a large, robust plant with a gentle profile. It suits:
- Consumers with a low THC tolerance looking for a 1:1 ratio
- Outdoor gardeners with plenty of room for plants 2 to 3 m tall
- Indoor growers who work with many small plants per square metre
- Growers who would like to feed organically, as the breeder recommends
- Lovers of sour citrus aromas with a musky note
It is less suitable for regions with an early, wet autumn and for anyone expecting a powerful THC high. You can find more strains for open ground under feminised outdoor seeds.
Growing Y Griega CBD: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
For indoor growing, Medical Seeds gives unusually specific advice: a very short vegetative phase of 1 to 1.5 weeks, followed by 9 to 10 weeks of flowering, and no more than 16 plants per square metre. The breeder does not state an indoor height in centimetres. The yield is given as about 500 g/m². The manufacturer recommends organic feeding because it is said to benefit aroma and yield. It describes the plants as robust and vigorous, with broad leaves – so make sure there is air movement in the dense canopy. You will find the basics on substrate and feeding in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Y Griega CBD shows its full size: Medical Seeds states a height of 2 to 3 m and about 400 g per plant. In the northern hemisphere, harvest falls in mid to late October. That is late – in locations with a damp autumn you need a sheltered spot or a greenhouse. Plan for generous spacing and supports, because plants of this size offer the wind a large surface to catch. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Y Griega CBD
In scent, Y Griega CBD is citrusy with musky notes. Medical Seeds describes the flavour as sour and slightly tart with lemony nuances. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. The breeder gives the effect as mildly psychoactive, relaxing and clear; according to its description, the focus is on physical relaxation rather than a head high. The balanced profile fits with this: THC and CBD are each at 4 to 10% and in a 1:1 ratio. The strain is therefore aimed at consumers who want to avoid a heavy high. Because the values can vary within the stated range, a cautious start pays off. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
