Candy Bubatz XL is a powerful 50/50 hybrid of Old School Bubble Gum × Critical Orange Punch. This strain is easy to grow, flowers quickly, becomes extremely resinous and has a candy-sweet terpene profile with notes of chewing gum, strawberry and melon.

The plant grows to medium to large size, branches profusely, forms long, compact buds and delivers truly XXL yields – both indoors and outdoors.
Genetics & Origin
- Genetics: Old School Bubble Gum × Critical Orange Punch
- Type: Feminised photoperiod seeds
- Sativa/Indica: Approx. 50/50 hybrid
- THC: 15–20% (slightly >20% under optimal conditions)
Effect & High
- Effect: Relaxing, pleasant and mood-lifting.
- Experience: Combines a sativa uplift with an indica body stone, ideal for after work, social occasions or relaxing in the sun. Can also be enjoyed during the day in moderation.
Terpenes, aroma & flavour
- Aroma: Very sweet and fruity, reminiscent of bubble gum, strawberry and melon, with sweet and sour candy notes.
- Taste: Fruity-sweet, with a sweet-sour aftertaste. The smoke is very smooth.
- Note: During flowering, the plant develops a very intense smell.
Cultivation
Indoor
- Flowering time: approx. 9 weeks
- Yield: 500–650 g/m² (with good lighting and optimal ventilation)
- Growth: Medium to large, strong branching, 2–3× stretch after switching to 12/12 light.
- Training: SCROG, topping/FIM are recommended. The plant has a very good flower-to-leaf ratio.
Outdoor / greenhouse
- Climate: Ideal for indoor, outdoor and greenhouse cultivation. Prefers warm and dry climate (Mediterranean).
- Harvest month: End of September / beginning of October
- Harvest: Usually 1–2 weeks later than indoors (depending on region).
- Height: Can grow up to 3–4 m tall.
- Yield: 0.5–1.0 kg+ per plant under optimal conditions.
- Tip: A canopy or good ventilation during late flowering protects against botrytis (grey mould).
Grow notes
- Beginner-friendly: Very tolerant of mistakes and ideal for beginners.
- Nutrients: Loves organic soil and organic nutrients.
- Phenotypes: There are two dominant phenotypes – a more compact, heavily branched one and a slightly taller one. Both are very productive.
- Resin production: The plant becomes extremely resinous (with thick, white layers of trichomes) and is therefore perfect for making hash and concentrates.
