More info
This Sativa-dominant strain is characterised by a unique 1:1 ratio of THC and THCV (6–8% each), making it a promising prospect for medical research and users seeking a subtle, clear high.
Years of development and selective breeding have produced a potent, highly branched plant with a unique spicy and floral terpene profile.
Genetics & Origin
- Genetics: Selective cross of various Sativa-dominant ‘research genetics’
- Breeder: Dutch Passion (part of the Special Cannabinoids collection)
- Type: Feminised (photoperiod)
- Sativa/Indica: Sativa-dominant
- Cannabinoid profile: 1:1 THC:THCV ratio
- THCV: 6–8% (with a minimum of >4%)
- THC: 6–8%
Effect & high
- Effect: Relaxing, yet stimulating, creative and subtle.
- Experience: The effect is clear and is often described as ‘mental clarity’. It is a combination of a stoned feeling in the body and a more euphoric high in the head. The duration is slightly shorter than with THC-rich strains. The traditional ‘munchies’ feeling (food cravings) does not occur, according to reports.
- Medical interest: THCV is being researched for its potential appetite-suppressing and metabolism-influencing properties (antagonist of the THC receptor type 1).
Terpenes, aroma & taste
- Scent: Mainly spicy and floral with occasional hints of wood/pine. Some people perceive a smell like spicy tea.
- Taste: Predominantly spicy with fresh, sometimes pungent pine notes. The taste is pleasant, fresh on the tongue and smooth in the throat.
- Dominant terpenes: Terpinolene, pinene, caryophyllene and ocimene.
Cultivation
Indoor
- Flowering time: Average 11 weeks (range: 10–12 weeks)
- Stretch: Strong (Sativa genes cause significant stretching during flowering)
- Yield: Medium to large (L category: 350–450 g/m² for experienced growers)
- Suitable for: Soil, coco and hydroponics.
Outdoor / greenhouse
- Climate: Only suitable in warm and sunny climates with long summers (due to the long flowering time). Unsuitable for northern/temperate climates.
- Harvest time: Late, as the flowering time can be 1–2 weeks longer than indoors.
- Yield: Good (approx. 250–750 g per plant outdoors under optimal conditions).
Grow notes
- Growth: Medium to large plants with vigorous branching and medium to large internode spacing.
- Flower structure: The buds are dense on the branches but do not tend to form completely dense, full flowers.
- Training: Very well suited to the SCROG method due to strong stretching during flowering. Responds well to techniques such as cropping, supercropping and bending.
- THCV consumption tip: When vaping, the temperature should be set to at least 220 °C, as THCV has a higher vaporisation temperature than THC.
Conclusion
THC Victory is a groundbreaking strain that offers a clear, stimulating high and potential therapeutic benefits due to its unique THCV content. It requires a longer flowering time, but rewards growers with a stable yield of buds with an unparalleled cannabinoid profile.
