Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Amnesia Bilbo
The basis of Amnesia Bilbo is the famous Dutch Amnesia Haze, a plant that, according to Genehtik, has already won numerous awards. The breeder feminised it and made it into its own line, Amnesia Bilbo. In the Genehtik catalogue it is considered the most remarkable Sativa, above all because of its intense Haze aroma. The manufacturer gives the ratio as 80% Sativa to 20% Indica, the THC content as 16 to 23% and the CBD content as 0.18 to 0.30%. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod; flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched and, at 70 to 85 days, takes noticeably longer than with many hybrids. The seeds grow into large plants whose flowers are thickly coated in resin. For comparison: you will also find an Amnesia Haze by Nirvana in our range.
Who Is Amnesia Bilbo For?
Amnesia Bilbo is listed with us as a beginner strain, but it demands time and space. It suits:
- Haze lovers looking for the classic metallic, smoky aroma
- Growers who can wait out 70 to 85 days of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners in warm locations with a long, dry autumn
- Yield-focused growers with plenty of headroom
- Beginners in growing who bring patience and plan for a late harvest
It is less suitable for anyone who wants to harvest quickly or has little space; because of its psychoactive power, Genehtik moreover describes it as not suitable for beginners. You can find faster alternatives under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Amnesia Bilbo: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
In the grow room, according to Genehtik, Amnesia Bilbo flowers for 70 to 85 days, i.e. ten to a good twelve weeks after the switch to 12/12. As the yield, the manufacturer states 550 to 600 g/m². The plants grow large; the breeder does not give a height in centimetres. So do not send them into flower too late, and keep the canopy flat with topping, tying down or a net. The long flowering time demands patience and a stable climate right to the end – you should know that, even though the strain is listed with us for beginners. You will find tips for your first runs in the Growpedia for beginners.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, care is called for when choosing the location: Genehtik warns that the plant reaches an enormous height there. The manufacturer states 1,500 to 2,000 g per plant and a harvest in October or November in the northern hemisphere. It only ripens reliably this late in regions with a long, warm and dry autumn; in cooler locations a greenhouse is the safer choice. Sturdy supports are a must at this size. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Amnesia Bilbo
Genehtik describes aroma and flavour as classic Haze: metallic and burnt, reminiscent of incense, with a light, pleasant aftertaste of liquorice. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. According to the breeder, the strain is known above all for its power: the psychoactive effect is said to be superior to any other and to do full justice to the name Amnesia. Genehtik therefore expressly considers it not suitable for beginners. The manufacturer gives the THC content as 16 to 23% and the CBD content as 0.18 to 0.30%. If you have little experience with strong Sativas, start with very small amounts. How intense the effect is depends on dose and personal tolerance.
