Genetics & Origin of Apple & Bananas
Apple & Bananas is one of the most sought-after US genetics of recent years and goes back to a cross of several well-known lines. According to Kannabia, Platinum Cookies was first crossed with Granddaddy Purple and then combined with Blue Power; this three-way combination was finally brought together with Gelatti. Each of these lines is a well-known name on the US scene in its own right. The result is a balanced hybrid with up to 27% THC. The flowers are thick and dense, made up of curled olive-green sugar leaves, and visually recall classic OG strains; some phenotypes turn purple. A dense layer of white trichomes gives them a frosted, matt appearance. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod. You can find more lines with an American background under US Genetics.

Growing Apple & Bananas: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Kannabia describes Apple & Bananas as easy to cultivate and, at the same time, as a strain that visibly rewards careful attention. Flowering time indoors is 63 days, and the breeder's data gives a yield of 500 g/m². The plant responds well to techniques that increase yield and trichome coverage – such as topping, LST or a SCROG net for an even canopy. Because the flowers become dense and unusually sticky, you should ensure good air movement and controlled humidity in late flowering. For help getting started, see our tips for beginners.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Apple & Bananas thrives best in a warm climate like that of the Mediterranean. The plants reach an average height of around 150 cm, harvest falls in October, and the manufacturer states up to 700 g per plant. In cooler regions a sheltered, sunny spot or a greenhouse is recommended. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Apple & Bananas
Apple & Bananas shows where its name comes from as soon as you open the jar: fresh apples and tropical banana, plus a strong hit of gas, fruit, damp forest floor and a hint of pine. On the palate, sweet, exotic fruit notes dominate, contrasted by earthy and spicy tones. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. Kannabia describes the effect as a balance of euphoric, creative head high and physical relaxation. Important: it builds gradually – anyone who tops up too quickly can easily underestimate the strain. With up to 27% THC, careful dosing is advisable; the intensity depends on dose and tolerance.
