Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Cookies Gelato
With this strain, Royal Queen Seeds wanted to show that an autoflower does not have to be weaker than a photoperiod plant. To do so, the breeders crossed Cookies Gelato with Big Skunk Auto and, after a phase of experimentation, selected a line with a very high THC value. The result consists of 75% Indica, 20% Sativa and 5% Ruderalis; the manufacturer states 23% THC with a low CBD content. It does not go into detail about which traits come from which parent. The seeds are feminised and autoflowering, so the plants go into flower without the light cycle being switched. If you would like to compare a photoperiod Gelato cross from the same breeder, you will find Wedding Gelato in our range; another autoflower by Royal Queen Seeds is Auto Wedding Cake.
Who Is Auto Cookies Gelato For?
Auto Cookies Gelato is a strong autoflower for relaxed hours. It suits:
- Growers looking for high potency in a short cycle
- Indoor growers with enough headroom for 90 to 140 cm
- Outdoor gardeners in regions with long summers
- Lovers of sweet aromas of cookie, honey and fruit
- Experienced consumers who appreciate a strongly physical effect in the evening
It is less suitable for consumption before work or appointments – Royal Queen Seeds itself advises against this. You can find more Indica-leaning automatics under autoflowering Indica strains.
Growing Auto Cookies Gelato: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
In the grow room, Auto Cookies Gelato reaches 90 to 140 cm – plan for this height. Royal Queen Seeds states a flowering phase of 8 to 9 weeks and harvest 10 to 12 weeks after germination; the yield is 450 to 500 g/m². The manufacturer gives no training tips. With autoflowers it is generally worth sowing directly into the final pot and avoiding stress in the first weeks, because pauses in growth can hardly be made up for in the fixed schedule. The dense colas benefit from good air movement towards the end. More on this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, at 60 to 140 cm, the plants stay about as tall as indoors and, according to the manufacturer, yield 80 to 140 g per plant. Royal Queen Seeds gives “long summers” as the climate zone. Outside, too, the strain is finished 10 to 12 weeks after germination; the harvest month therefore only follows from the sowing date. A sunny, sheltered spot helps. You can find suitable alternatives under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Cookies Gelato
Royal Queen Seeds lists aromas of fruit, cookies, earth and honey; the data sheet accordingly says “cookie, earthy, fruity, honey”. The manufacturer speaks of an abundance of terpenes without naming individual ones – there is no lab terpene profile. On the effect it is clear: the 23% THC provides a strongly physical, deeply relaxing effect, which it recommends for quiet evenings at home, camping trips or sunbathing and expressly not for the way to work or before a meeting. The data sheet, by contrast, briefly sums up the effect as balanced and creative. Royal Queen Seeds advises consuming the strain with care. How intensely it works depends on dose and personal tolerance.
