Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Forbidden Cherry
For Auto Forbidden Cherry, Dutch Passion combined its in-house Purple #1 with a cross of Auto Forbidden Fruit and Cherry Pie. According to the breeder, the aim was a beautiful purple autoflower that nevertheless copes with very different conditions; to achieve this, selection for resilience and stability was carried out over several generations. The outcome is an Indica-dominant hybrid – the manufacturer does not give exact proportions, and the fact sheet simply says "Hybrid". The purple flower colour is genetically anchored and therefore also shows indoors. It ranges from purple-pink to very dark purple, in individual cases even to black, especially in colder conditions outdoors. Dutch Passion gives the THC content as 10 to 15%. The seeds are feminised and autoflowering. Another autoflower from the same breeder is Auto Mimosa Punch.

Growing Auto Forbidden Cherry: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Under 20/4 light, according to Dutch Passion, Auto Forbidden Cherry needs 63 to 70 days on average from seed to harvest, i.e. 9 to 10 weeks; particularly fast phenotypes are finished after 9 weeks in a perfect climate. The plants grow like a small Christmas tree with a dominant main cola and reach 40 to 75 cm on average, in large pots occasionally about one metre. Indoors, the manufacturer considers around 400 to 450 g/m² possible. It generally advises against topping because the yield can suffer. According to the manufacturer, the seed germinates best directly in its final pot. You can read more about growing in the Growpedia for beginners.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, the cycle takes about one to one and a half weeks longer, and with low night temperatures up to 11 or 12 weeks. Dutch Passion recommends the three warmest summer months. In temperate or colder regions most growers harvest around 30 to 50 g per plant, and in a sunny, dry climate up to 150 g is possible; in general the breeder states 25 to 100 g per plant. The open flower structure lets air through and, according to the manufacturer, lowers the risk of bud rot and mould. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Forbidden Cherry
According to Dutch Passion, Auto Forbidden Cherry smells exceptionally powerful and pungent: fruity, earthy and spicy, with notes of citrus fruit, forest fruits and lavender, and in some phenotypes pine as well. Towards the end of flowering a sharp old-school aroma can develop – so a carbon filter makes sense indoors. After a good cure, the citrus note recedes and the Kush character comes through more strongly; the smoke is considered smooth. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as calming and relaxing with a distinct body high but without complete couch-lock, as well as slightly uplifting and of medium duration. With 10 to 15% THC the potency is medium. How strongly you feel the effect depends on dose and personal tolerance.
