Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto GG-48
Gorilla Glue and AK48 come together in Auto GG-48; Nirvana gives the genetics as (Gorilla Glue × AK48) Auto. The Ruderalis share ensures that the plants flower independently of the light cycle. The manufacturer lists the strain as a Ruderalis/Indica/Sativa hybrid with a ratio of 65% Sativa to 35% Indica and as THC-dominant: it states 23 to 28% THC and less than 1% CBD. It is offered exclusively as feminised seed. According to Nirvana, the plants grow vigorously and form large, dense, fleshy buds with a lot of resin. If you prefer to grow photoperiod plants, you will find GG-48 by Nirvana in our range; the breeder's AK line is available there as, among others, Auto AK-48.
Who Is Auto GG-48 For?
Auto GG-48 combines a manageable cycle with a very high THC content. It suits:
- Growers who want to get from seedling to harvest in around 10 weeks
- Indoor growers with limited headroom – the plants stay at up to 90 cm
- Yield-focused growers who appreciate dense, resinous buds
- Lovers of woody, spicy and earthy aromas
- Consumers with tolerance who can gauge 23 to 28% THC
It is less suitable if you are looking for a mild strain – the THC content is too high for that. You can find more fast, high-yielding autoflowers under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing Auto GG-48: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Nirvana gives the full cycle as about 10 weeks, and elsewhere as around 70 days from seedling to harvest – the two match. The manufacturer does not state a separate flowering time, and the light cycle does not need to be switched. Indoors, the plants reach up to 90 cm and, according to Nirvana, deliver about 500 to 600 g/m² of large, dense, resin-covered buds. With such compact flowers, good air movement in the final weeks pays off, and because of the wealth of resin and aroma a carbon filter is part of the set-up. Because the cycle is fixed, little time remains for recovery after heavy pruning. You will find the basics in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, the plants grow up to 130 cm tall. Nirvana does not state a yield per plant or a harvest month; what counts is the cycle of about 10 weeks from germination, which you should place in the warmest and brightest weeks of the season. A wind-sheltered spot in full sun helps to make use of the short growing time. You can find more strains for outdoors under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto GG-48
After drying and curing, according to Nirvana, Auto GG-48 gives off a complex aroma: woody, floral and spicy notes sit on an earthy, sweet base. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as intense and long-lasting – stimulating and motivating in the head, rather relaxing in the body. Nirvana puts this down to the THC content of 23 to 28%, which places the strain in the very strong range; the CBD content is under 1%. Dose with corresponding caution, especially if you are not used to such values. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
