Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto AK-48
Auto AK-48 is the autoflowering version of the popular AK line: Nirvana gives the genetics as AK line × Ruderalis, so the plants flower independently of the light cycle. The result is an Indica/Sativa hybrid that Nirvana describes above all in terms of its speed – very fast flowering, firm, resinous buds and a penetrating scent. The manufacturer does not state exact proportions of Indica, Sativa and Ruderalis, nor a THC value as a percentage; it merely rates the THC content as high. A special feature is the rare "cherrylicious" phenotype with a sweet cherry aroma, which according to Nirvana only the lucky will find. The seeds are feminised. From the same house comes Auto White Widow, another autoflower by Nirvana.
Who Is Auto AK-48 For?
Auto AK-48 is designed for short runs. It suits:
- Beginners looking for an autoflower that, according to the manufacturer, is low-maintenance and robust
- Growers planning several fast cycles in a row
- Indoor growers who grow in a Sea of Green
- Aroma lovers hoping for the rare cherry phenotype
- Consumers who like a euphoric yet relaxed effect for quiet afternoons
It is less suitable if you are looking for the highest yield per area: at 200 to 300 g/m² it is more in the mid range. The autoflowering seeds category offers a wider choice of autoflowering strains.
Growing Auto AK-48: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Auto AK-48 flowers without the light cycle being switched. Nirvana states a flowering time of 7 to 9 weeks from germination and considers a harvest after 48 days possible under ideal conditions. Whether this means flowering alone or the entire time from seed to harvest is not clear from the figure – so allow some leeway and judge ripeness by the trichomes. The plants stay medium-sized; in a Sea of Green the manufacturer states 200 to 300 g/m². The hard, compact buds smell intense, so an activated carbon filter makes sense. Nirvana describes the strain as low-maintenance and robust. You will find the basics for getting started in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Nirvana's growing information applies to indoors and outdoors together; the manufacturer does not state separate outdoor values such as an outdoor height or a yield per plant. Because the strain flowers by itself and finishes quickly, it can easily be fitted into the warm months. A sunny, sheltered spot helps the medium-sized plant make the most of its short cycle. You can find more strains for outdoors under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto AK-48
Nirvana describes the scent of Auto AK-48 as intense and sweetish-floral. For the flavour, the manufacturer cites earthy, sweet and floral notes; occasionally a cherry aroma is added, which only the "cherrylicious" phenotype shows. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The breeder sums up the effect as happy, euphoric and relaxed: a clear, euphoric high accompanied by relaxed contentment – suitable, as it presents it, for relaxed afternoons. Nirvana rates the THC content as high without giving a percentage; we deliberately do not add any estimates here. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
