Genetics & Origin of Auto Hindu Kush
According to Sensi Seeds, Hindu Kush has been a favourite of old-school Indica lovers for more than two decades. It was bred as a pure Indica and carefully preserved in the company's own gene pool. For the automatic variant, the breeder combined this original with a Ruderalis strain whose name it does not give. It lists the result at 90% Indica. Auto Hindu Kush flowers independently of the light cycle as soon as the plants have developed their first leaves, and produces exclusively female plants. Sensi Seeds calls it the modern new edition of an award-winning classic, without listing individual awards; values for THC and CBD are likewise missing. The automatic is said to further strengthen the resilience and reliability of the original strain. If you are looking for the genetics as a regular line from another breeder, you will find Hindu Kush Regular by Barney's Farm.
Who Is Auto Hindu Kush For?
Auto Hindu Kush is designed for little effort. It suits:
- Beginners looking for a robust strain that survives growing mistakes
- Growers with low ceilings or small tents
- Gardeners who want a low plant outdoors that is finished before the cold season
- Lovers of classic mountain Indicas with an earthy, spicy aroma
- Consumers who are looking for calm without sinking completely into the sofa
It is less suitable for anyone who expects maximum yields or a stimulating Sativa effect – Sensi Seeds calls the yield medium. You can find more autoflowering Indicas under autoflowering Indica strains.
Growing Auto Hindu Kush: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Sensi Seeds gives flowering as 45 to 50 days; the vegetative phase before it comes on top, so the entire cycle takes longer. In the shop the life cycle is classed at 9 to 11 weeks; the breeder does not state a figure of its own from seed to harvest. You do not need to switch the light cycle. The plants stay short and bushy, which helps in rooms with a low ceiling. Thanks to its sturdy branches, the strain is suitable for Sea of Green, Screen of Green and lollipopping, according to the manufacturer. According to its information, the smell stays rather subtle until the end of flowering. Sensi Seeds lists the yield as medium, without a value in g/m². The tips for beginners offer more for getting started.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to Sensi Seeds, Auto Hindu Kush thrives very well in warm, sunny regions; at the same time, the breeder's brief specifications list it for cool to cold climates. Directly in the ground instead of in a pot it grows somewhat taller but remains a rather small plant. The manufacturer emphasises that it is in any case ready for harvest before it gets cold. It does not state a yield per plant. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Hindu Kush
In terms of flavour, the automatic stays close to the original: Sensi Seeds describes distinctly earthy notes and the sweet pungency of charas, topped by sandalwood and incense, which give the whole a pleasant sweetness. In some plants a pine aftertaste is added. After drying, the flavour and aroma of the dense, firm flowers become deeper and sharper. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile or a THC value. It portrays the effect as a soft, long-lasting stoned effect that conveys calm but does not trigger complete couch-lock. According to Sensi Seeds, some users even report better concentration on monotonous tasks – as long as the amount stays small. The breeder also recommends the strain to new consumers. How strongly it acts depends on dose and tolerance.
