Genetics & Origin of Auto Top-44
Top-44 is one of the fastest-growing strains from Nirvana's seed bank. The original line was obtained from crossing Skunk #1 with an Afghani selection. Auto Top-44 is its feminised autoflowering edition: the plants go into flower independently of the light cycle. Nirvana does not state which cross the Auto version is based on; it is stated as Skunk #1 × Viking × Afghan. The manufacturer lists the strain as mostly Indica, without percentage values, and states neither a THC nor a CBD content. As strengths it highlights the short flowering time, rich yields and high resistance. You will also find the photoperiod original strain in our range as Top 44, and a Skunk #1 from another breeder as Skunk #1 by Barney's Farm.
Who Is Auto Top-44 For?
Auto Top-44 is tailored to short summers and rough weather. It suits:
- Outdoor gardeners in northern regions with short summers
- Growers looking for a weatherproof, resilient autoflower
- Anyone who wants to grow without switching the light cycle
- Lovers of classic, skunky, earthy aromas
- Consumers who appreciate an effect that is first clear, then physically relaxing
It is less suitable if you have to grow inconspicuously: according to the manufacturer, the smell during flowering is intense. You can find more autoflowers for open ground under automatic seeds outdoor.
Growing Auto Top-44: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
As an autoflower, Auto Top-44 flowers by itself; you do not need to switch the light cycle. Nirvana emphasises the short flowering time but states neither a duration in weeks nor a height or a yield in g/m²; so go by the ripeness of the trichomes rather than a fixed date. According to the manufacturer, the intense, skunky, earthy aroma spreads through the room during flowering and should be captured with carbon filters. For a good harvest, the breeder recommends a nutrient-rich substrate. Because autoflowers have little time to recover from setbacks, it is worth sowing directly into the final pot. You will find the basics on substrate and feeding in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
As the manufacturer presents it, the strain's real strength lies outdoors. Nirvana calls it the first choice for northern regions with short summers: it is said to withstand any weather, and the short flowering time is said to leave pests hardly any opportunity. According to the breeder, the soil should contain plenty of nutrients, and south-facing spots are best suited. Nirvana does not give a height, a harvest date or a yield per plant. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto Top-44
According to Nirvana, Auto Top-44 smells and tastes skunky and earthy; the aroma is intense and clearly noticeable during flowering. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect in two phases: at first the strain has a calming effect, clears the head and motivates; after that, physical relaxation sets in, which, according to the breeder, makes it easy to switch off from everyday stress. Nirvana does not give a THC value for the auto version, nor a CBD value – so we deliberately do not add a figure. If you do not yet know the strain, it is best to start with a small amount. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
