Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Auto Velvet Drip
Auto Velvet Drip brings two highly aromatic lines into an autoflowering format: Banana OG and Purple Punch. Original Sensible Seeds gives the ratio as 60% Sativa and 40% Indica and states a THC content of up to 25%; the breeder does not state a CBD value. As an autoflower, the plant switches to flowering independently of the light cycle, and the seeds are feminised. The manufacturer describes the growth as compact and elegant, and the strain as very productive for the short time it needs to reach harvest. If you would like to get to know the parent lines individually, you will find in our range, for example, Banana OG by Humboldt Seed Company and Purple Punch by Royal Queen Seeds – both lines from other breeders.
Who Is Auto Velvet Drip For?
Auto Velvet Drip is a fast autoflower with a Sativa focus and a fruit aroma. It suits:
- Growers who want to get from seed to harvest in 65 to 70 days
- Indoor gardeners looking for a compact plant with high stated yields
- Balcony and greenhouse gardeners – the manufacturer expressly names both
- Fans of banana, orange and citrus aromas
- Consumers who prefer a clear, stimulating high during the day
If you are looking for a heavy, sedating strain for the evening, you are better served by Indica-leaning genetics. You can find more strong autoflowers under autoflowering strains with high THC content.
Growing Auto Velvet Drip: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
According to the manufacturer, Auto Velvet Drip needs 65 to 70 days from seed to harvest; it does not state a separate flowering time. By its account, the strain does best with 18 to 20 hours of light per day. Original Sensible Seeds gives the height as 70 to 120 cm, while the data sheet lists 80 to 120 cm for the grow room. The breeder states a yield of up to 700 g/m². According to the manufacturer, the plant responds well to low stress training, i.e. gently tying down the shoots. It is best to sow straight into the final pot, because an autoflower has no time to recover from repotting. You can read more on this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the breeder, Auto Velvet Drip is suitable for the greenhouse and sunny balconies; as climate it names cool to temperate regions. On height, its figures are not consistent: 70 to 120 cm in general, 100 to 150 cm for open ground in the data sheet. According to the manufacturer, the yield is up to 170 g per plant. Schedule sowing for the brightest months of the year. More strains for open ground are listed under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of Auto Velvet Drip
Original Sensible Seeds describes the aroma of Auto Velvet Drip as a creamy, fruity tropical mix: ripe banana, orange cream and tropical citrus fruit, plus sweet, earthy notes. The flavour is correspondingly fruity, creamy and fresh. For the terpene profile, the manufacturer names limonene as the dominant terpene, along with caryophyllene, pinene and terpinolene. It portrays the effect as invigorating and creative, with a clear head, a good mood and a gentle physical relaxation that does not pin you to the sofa – in its view a strain for the daytime and for sociable get-togethers. Up to 25% THC is a hefty figure, however. How intensely you experience the high depends on dose and personal tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
