Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Biscotti Strain
Three well-known lines stand behind Biscotti: Barney's Farm gives the lineage as Gelato × Girl Scout Cookies × OG Kush. This has produced a clearly Indica-dominant hybrid with 80% Indica and 20% Sativa, whose THC content the breeder puts at 25 to 27%; it does not state a CBD value. According to the manufacturer, the plants stay compact and are very productive at the same time. The strain is offered as feminised, photoperiod seed – so flowering only begins when you switch the light cycle to 12/12. You will also find all three parent lines individually in our range, for example as Gelato by Nirvana, Girl Scout Cookies by Barney's Farm and OG Kush by White Label Seed Co.
Who Is Biscotti Strain For?
Biscotti Strain is a strain for everyone who goes for potency and quantity at once. It suits:
- Growers looking for dessert genetics with biscuit and vanilla notes
- Indoor gardeners with limited headroom, because the plants stay at 90 to 110 cm
- Outdoor growers with space for plants 150 to 200 cm tall
- Yield-focused growers who plan for a good nine to ten weeks of flowering
- Consumers with a high tolerance who appreciate a very strong Indica effect
It is less suitable for anyone looking for a mild strain: 25 to 27% THC calls for careful dosing. You can find more Indica-leaning strains under Indica strains.
Growing Biscotti Strain: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Barney's Farm gives the flowering time as 65 to 70 days, i.e. a good nine to ten weeks. The plants reach 90 to 110 cm; the data sheet gives the yield as up to 600 to 650 g/m², while elsewhere the manufacturer speaks of 650 g/m². If you are aiming for such quantities, you should support the shoots in good time and ensure strong air movement so that the flowers stay dry in the final weeks. With the sweet-spicy aroma and its touch of diesel, a carbon filter is recommended. The manufacturer does not give specific training recommendations. For storing the seeds, it advises a cool, dark place in an airtight container; you can read more about this in the guide to seed storage in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Biscotti grows 150 to 200 cm tall and, according to the manufacturer, yields up to 1.5 kg per plant. The information on the harvest date is not consistent: the data sheet names the second to third week of October, while elsewhere the manufacturer names early October. To be on the safe side, plan with the later date and judge ripeness by the trichomes. With such a large plant, a spot in full sun, plenty of root space and sturdy supports are the foundation. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Biscotti Strain
Barney's Farm describes the flavour as rich and creamy, with sweet biscuits, sugary vanilla and diesel undertones; the aroma as sweet, spicy and earthy, likewise with a diesel note. According to the manufacturer, the terpenes make for a sweet, earthy and citrusy impression – it does not list individual terpenes. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. With 25 to 27% THC, the breeder promises a strong, intense high that quickly leads into a dreamlike state of relaxation. According to its information, the Indica-dominant genetics provide a euphoric, calming experience; the data sheet adds the keywords creative and "creeping full-body stone". That points more to the evening and to consumers with experience. How intense its effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance – start low.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
