Genetics & Origin of Courtesy F2
Courtesy goes back to a coincidence: according to Helvetic Seeds, during a run with NLX Automatic a female appeared that was not autoflowering but responded photoperiodically and carried on growing unfazed. Cuttings were taken from this particularly vigorous plant and pollinated with a compact, sturdy Owl's Skunk male. The breeder gives the genotype as NLX (Fast Version) × Owl's Skunk and the Indica share as over 70%. The F2 offered here is an inbred cross of this Courtesy. For the original line, Helvetic Seeds describes two phenotypes in a ratio of 85 to 15; for the F2, according to the breeder, the distribution has not yet been conclusively established. It does not state THC or CBD values. As regular seed, Courtesy F2 produces male and female plants. You can find more lines of this kind under regular seeds.
Who Is Courtesy F2 For?
Courtesy F2 is an uncomplicated Indica line with a short flowering time. It suits:
- Beginners looking for a robust strain that forgives growing mistakes
- Growers who want to gain their first experience with regular seeds and selection
- Hobby breeders who look for phenotypes of their own in an F2
- Outdoor gardeners who prefer compact plants of 1 to 1.5 m
- Growers with larger projects, as there are packs of up to 100 seeds
It is less suitable if you want exclusively female plants without any selection work. You can find large packs of other strains under Bulk Seeds.
Growing Courtesy F2: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Helvetic Seeds states a flowering time of 49 to 56 days and a yield of over 500 g/m² for Courtesy F2. For the Courtesy line the breeder describes two types: the more common one is ripe after 8 weeks on average and forms thick, firm flowers with an extraordinary amount of resin, which the breeder attributes to the White Widow genetics; the rarer one resembles the Skunk father and needs only 7 weeks. It describes the leaf-to-flower ratio as great. It does not give an indoor height. Determine the sex in pre-flowering and remove male plants if you do not want to breed. The basics on this are in the tips for beginners.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Courtesy F2 grows 1 to 1.5 m tall and is ready for harvest from late September to early October. Helvetic Seeds gives the yield as up to 500 g per plant. The breeder describes the line as very robust, indoors and outdoors alike. A sunny spot and sorting out the males in good time are the most important points. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Courtesy F2
Helvetic Seeds comments on effect and aroma on the basis of the Courtesy line from which the F2 derives. The breeder describes smell and flavour as creamy-sweetish with cheese-like notes and as very intense, yet harmonious, balanced and pleasant to smoke. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. Although the plants grow like Indicas, it assigns the high more to the Sativa side: a feeling of lightness and light-heartedness which, however, has a calming rather than an activating effect. It portrays the more common phenotype as decidedly positive and pleasant. The breeder does not give a THC value. As the phenotype distribution of the F2 is not yet fixed, individual plants may differ from one another. How intense the effect is depends on phenotype, dose and personal tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
