Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of GMO Fast
For GMO Fast, the breeders at Dutch Passion were, in their own words, looking for a particularly strong and pungent-smelling GMO line. The starting point was a very potent clone of GMO, which is also known as Garlic Cookies. Dutch Passion crossed it with its in-house Think Fast. The manufacturer attributes the short flowering time to recessive autoflower genetics; this does not make the strain autoflowering: GMO Fast remains photoperiod and only begins to flower after the light cycle is switched. Dutch Passion describes the result as fast, stable and very potent, with around 20% THC or just above; initial lab analyses showed 22 to 23%. The breeder does not state an Indica/Sativa ratio or a CBD value. The seeds are feminised. Who Is GMO Fast For?
GMO Fast combines a very distinctive aroma with a short flowering time. It suits:
- Fans of the Garlic Cookies line looking for the savoury onion-and-garlic aroma
- Indoor growers who would like to harvest after 7 to 8 weeks of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners in temperate locations with a short season
- Guerrilla growers, for whom, according to the manufacturer, the early harvest in September counts
- Consumers who prefer a potent strain with around 20% THC
If you prefer mild, sweet and fruity aromas, you will be less happy with the spicy profile. You can find more fast strains under High Yield & Short Flowering.
Growing GMO Fast: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Dutch Passion, GMO Fast is ready for harvest about 7 to 8 weeks after the switch to 12/12. The manufacturer rates the yield as “XL” without putting a figure on it; around 500 g/m² is stated. Dutch Passion gives no information on plant height – so plan in some headroom and watch the stretch in the first weeks of flowering. The onion-and-garlic aroma is strong, so a well-sized carbon filter is part of the basic equipment. You can read more about climate and air extraction in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, GMO Fast also performs well in temperate climates. In the northern hemisphere it can be harvested in September – that is, before it turns cold and wet in many regions. Dutch Passion therefore recommends it particularly for guerrilla and outdoor growers with a short season and a difficult climate; it is also intended for the greenhouse. The manufacturer does not state a yield per plant or a height for open ground. A sunny spot sheltered from the wind helps to make full use of the short season. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Terpenes of GMO Fast
According to Dutch Passion, most GMO Fast plants carry the unmistakable, savoury onion-and-garlic profile of the line – a smell that has little in common with sweet dessert strains. The breeder speaks of a groundbreaking terpene profile; caryophyllene and limonene are stated as the defining terpenes. Dutch Passion gives no further details on the type of effect and merely lists the strain as a hybrid. It is described as relaxing. What is certain is the potency: the manufacturer mostly states around 20% THC or just above, and initial lab results were 22 to 23%. For consumers with little experience that is a lot, and cautious dosing makes sense. How strong the effect is in an individual case depends on dose and personal tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
