Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of MK-Ultra
MK-Ultra unites two names with a great reputation: G-13 and an OG Kush from Los Angeles. T.H. Seeds lists the cross as a predominantly Indica strain; the strain description does not state an exact ratio or a THC value. The name alludes to a secret CIA experiment. The strain became known through its awards: first place at the High Times Cannabis Cup 2003, second place in 2004, plus prizes at the High Times Denver Cup 2014 and at the Social Clubs Cannabis Cup in 2014 and 2015. The plants grow compact, and the seeds are feminised and photoperiod – so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. If you would like to select or breed with this line, you will also find it as regular seeds: MK-Ultra Regular.
Who Is MK-Ultra For?
MK-Ultra is a compact Indica with a heavy effect. It suits:
- Growers with small spaces who need compact plants
- Indoor gardeners who work in a Sea of Green
- Collectors of award-winning classics with a Cup history
- Lovers of pine and earth aromas
- Consumers looking for a strongly physical, relaxing effect in the evening
It is less suitable for anyone who mainly grows outdoors or wants to achieve the highest possible yields: the strain description sees it first and foremost as an indoor strain and states about 350 g/m². You can find more proven genetics under Classics and Landraces.
Growing MK-Ultra: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
For MK-Ultra, the strain description states a height of 100 to 120 cm, 56 to 63 days of flowering and a yield of about 350 g/m². According to the manufacturer, the compact growth makes it ideal for Sea of Green and small spaces: many small plants with a short vegetative phase fill the area quickly. Make sure there is good air movement between the closely spaced plants and controlled humidity in the final weeks of flowering. The intense pine scent makes a carbon filter a sensible choice. As the strain is photoperiod, you decide for yourself when flowering begins by switching to 12/12. You will find the basics on climate, light and growing methods in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
There is hardly any information for open ground: because of its compact structure, the strain description considers MK-Ultra primarily suited to indoors and states neither a harvest time nor a height or yield per plant. If you grow it outdoors nevertheless, you should choose a warm, sunny spot sheltered from rain and judge ripeness by the trichomes. A greenhouse offers additional security. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of MK-Ultra
MK-Ultra smells intensely of pine with earthy undertones; the flavour is described as resinous, spicy and long-lasting. The strain description speaks of a classic aroma that is highly recognisable. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. The effect is considered hypnotic, strongly physical and mentally relaxing – the strain description speaks of a grounding, almost trance-like high that suits quiet evenings, deep relaxation and creative sessions. T.H. Seeds does not give a THC value in the description, so we do not add a figure. In view of the effect, which is described as very strong, careful dosing is advisable; how intense it is depends on the amount and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
