Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Permanent Rainbow
Permanent Rainbow combines two modern US lines: RS54 and Permanent Marker. Elev8 Seeds describes the result as a hybrid with a balanced structure; the breeder does not state percentages for Indica and Sativa, and in some places the strain is also classed as Indica-leaning. The manufacturer gives the THC content as up to 30% – a very high value that suggests careful dosing. It does not state a CBD value. Elev8 Seeds describes the flowers as compact and colourful and also recommends them for extracts. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only sets in after the light cycle is switched. Permanent Storm and the Indica hybrid Thundersnow also come from the same breeder's catalogue.
Who Is Permanent Rainbow For?
Permanent Rainbow appeals to connoisseurs looking for aroma and potency at the same time. It suits:
- Lovers of multi-layered fruit, cream and Chem notes
- Consumers with a high tolerance who know what to make of up to 30% THC
- Growers who want to use compact, colourful flowers for extracts
- Indoor growers who plan for 8 to 9 weeks of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners whose season lasts until mid-October
It is less suitable for occasional consumers for whom such a high THC content is too much. You can find more particularly potent strains under Super High THC Content.
Growing Permanent Rainbow: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Permanent Rainbow flowers for 8 to 9 weeks according to Elev8 Seeds; as a photoperiod strain, it starts doing so after the switch to 12/12. The manufacturer describes the yield as high; the figure given is 500 to 600 g/m². There is no height figure from the manufacturer – so allow some reserve for the stretch and keep the canopy flat with training if necessary. The compact flowers benefit from good air movement in the final weeks, and because of the strong, chemical, spicy smell a carbon filter makes sense. You will find the basics on climate, training and harvest time in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Permanent Rainbow is ready for harvest in early to mid-October, according to the manufacturer. Elev8 Seeds speaks of a high yield outside too; the figure given is up to 1,000 g per plant. There is no information on height outdoors. A sunny, sheltered spot helps to keep the dense flowers dry in autumn; in rainy locations a roof over the plants is worthwhile. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Permanent Rainbow
Elev8 Seeds describes the scent as fruity and creamy with a chemical, spicy note, and the flavour as sweet and earthy with a slightly sour finish. The breeder speaks of a multi-layered terpene profile but does not name any individual terpenes; the manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. According to its information, the effect sets in with a mental boost and creative energy and then turns into deep physical relaxation – without couch-lock, as it emphasises. As keywords it cites creative, euphoric and relaxing, and it sees the strain at creative sessions, in sociable company or for winding down at the end of the day. With up to 30% THC it is very potent; how intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
