Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Russian Snow
Russian Snow is a cross of two strains that Vision Seeds also offers individually: AK-49 and White Widow. The result is an almost pure Indica with 90% Indica and 10% Sativa. The breeder describes a compact, medium-sized plant with very dense flower clusters and a low proportion of leaves. It takes its name from the wintry pale flowers heavily coated in resin – the typical look of the White family. Vision Seeds gives the THC content as around 18%, and in the data sheet as up to 20%; the CBD content is low and, according to the manufacturer, is 1% at most. Russian Snow is offered as feminised, photoperiod seed and only flowers after the light cycle is switched. Vision Seeds calls the strain uncomplicated to care for and particularly popular with beginners and lovers of White strains.
Who Is Russian Snow For?
Russian Snow is a compact, resinous Indica without great demands. It suits:
- Beginners looking for a low-maintenance and resilient strain
- Indoor growers with small tents and compact setups who plan for a height of 80 to 120 cm
- Fans of White Widow and other resinous White strains
- Outdoor gardeners who want to harvest as early as the end of September, before the autumn weather turns
- Consumers who appreciate a clear, slightly euphoric effect
Russian Snow is less suitable for maximum yields or a powerful Sativa high. You can find more Indica-influenced strains under Indica strains.
Growing Russian Snow: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Because of its low proportion of leaves, Vision Seeds considers Russian Snow particularly well suited to indoor growing and compact setups. Flowering takes about 9 weeks, the plants grow 80 to 120 cm tall, and the manufacturer states 350 to 450 g/m². Because little foliage covers the flowers, light reaches the shoots well, and trimming is quickly done. The very dense flower clusters need good air movement and controlled humidity in the final weeks. The breeder describes care as uncomplicated – a good basis for a first run. You will find practical advice on this in the Growpedia for beginners.
Outdoor Growing
Outside, according to Vision Seeds, Russian Snow is ready for harvest at the end of September and therefore finishes early. The breeder calls the strain low-maintenance and resilient, expressly for beginners too. The outdoor yield is given as up to 450 g per plant; the manufacturer does not state an outdoor height. A sunny, sheltered spot supports the early ripening. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Russian Snow
According to Vision Seeds, the scent of Russian Snow is sweetish and floral with a frosty freshness, the flavour soft, sweet and pleasantly subtle; the data sheet lists the keywords sweet, candy and fruity for it. According to the manufacturer, the smoke is considered gentle. Vision Seeds does not state a terpene profile from the lab. The breeder describes the effect as happy, clear and slightly euphoric, suitable for the day as well as the evening; the data sheet adds relaxing, euphoric and a physical buzz. At around 18% and, according to the data sheet, up to 20% THC, the strain is strong, while the CBD content stays at 1% at most. How intensely you experience the effect depends on dose and tolerance.
