Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Solodiol CBD
According to éLite seeds, Solodiol is one of the first strains on the market to combine a lot of CBD with less than 1% THC. The breeder reports that it did not want to rely on the widespread CBD genetics of Diesel origin and kept on searching, sowing and analysing for years. In the process it came across a second genetic base of different origin, which it calls “CBD Asia”. It makes it possible to offer a pure CBD strain without inbred crosses; according to the manufacturer, such crosses produce plants with undesirable anomalies. éLite seeds does not disclose the individual parent strains. The stated figures are 80% Sativa, 20% Indica, up to 24% CBD and a CBD:THC ratio of 26:1; by its own account, the breeder continually checks the values in its own laboratory. From the same breeder comes Gorilla Snow Ultra CBD.
Who Is Solodiol CBD For?
Solodiol CBD is a strain for anyone who wants to grow cannabis flowers without any appreciable THC content. It suits:
- Growers who would like to harvest flowers with up to 24% CBD
- Consumers looking for a strain that, according to the manufacturer, is not psychoactive
- Consumers who want to mix it with hash or THC-rich flowers
- Growers who make extractions
- Smokers looking for a substitute for tobacco in mixes
The strain is less suitable if you expect a noticeable high – at under 1% THC, according to the manufacturer, there is none. You can find Sativas containing THC under Sativa strains.
Growing Solodiol CBD: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Under artificial light, Solodiol CBD flowers for 8 to 9 weeks according to éLite seeds. The breeder describes the plant as vigorous and resistant, with hard, compact flowers and high production; it does not publish figures for yield per square metre or height. With a Sativa-leaning strain, it makes sense to allow for some stretch after the switch to 12/12 and to tie the shoots down if necessary. Compact flowers like moving air and humidity that falls towards the end. According to the manufacturer, the aroma is powerful and penetrating, so a carbon filter is part of the basic equipment. According to the breeder, the cannabinoid values are guaranteed in all offspring and are constantly analysed in its own laboratory. Further guides can be found in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Solodiol CBD is harvested in early October. Like any photoperiod strain, the plant, which is described as resistant, needs a spot in full sun; a location sheltered from the wind and a large pot or open soil support the high production stated by the breeder. éLite seeds does not state a yield per plant or a final height. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Solodiol CBD
éLite seeds describes the flavour and aroma as powerful and penetrating, with notes of conifer needles and ginger. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. It sums up the effect in three words: light, gentle and very clear. Consumed on its own, it remains free of psychoactive effects according to the breeder; it compares the strain to alcohol-free beer. In addition, éLite seeds mentions its use in mixes – as a tobacco substitute, together with hash, in extractions or with THC-rich flowers – where you determine the ratio yourself. The content is up to 24% CBD, while THC is said never to exceed 1%. Even with CBD strains, everyone reacts a little differently; how you experience the effect depends on dose and tolerance.
