Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Tom Kush OG
With Tom Kush OG, Vision Seeds presents its own version of OG Kush, whose legend the breeder itself calls mysterious. According to its information, the original genetics were brought to Holland in close collaboration with Californian breeders; it gives the cross as Chemdawg × Hindu Kush. Vision Seeds describes the result as a heavy Indica hitter with West Coast character: 75% Indica, 25% Sativa, dense, extremely resinous buds and THC values between 22 and 25% with a low CBD content. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins with the switch to 12/12. We carry a strain bearing the name of one of the parent lines as Chemdog by Anesia Seeds; for a comparison of the OG direction, OG Kush by Royal Queen Seeds is a good option.
Who Is Tom Kush OG For?
Tom Kush OG is a powerful Kush for connoisseurs. It suits:
- Experienced growers, especially those with outdoor experience
- Indoor growers who want to harvest after about 8 weeks of flowering
- Gardeners with a great deal of room for plants up to 3 m tall
- Lovers of classic Kush aromas of pine, lemon and earth
- Consumers looking for a deeply relaxing effect in the evening
It is less suitable for a first grow and for small gardens, because the plants become very large and high-yielding outdoors. You can find more potent strains under Super High THC Content.
Growing Tom Kush OG: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, Tom Kush OG shows compact but vigorous Indica growth. Vision Seeds states a flowering time of about 8 weeks, heights from 80 cm and a yield of up to 550 g/m². The buds become dense and very resinous; so ensure good air movement and controlled humidity in late flowering. The intense Kush aroma makes a carbon filter practically indispensable. The manufacturer gives no training recommendations – with bushy Indica plants, topping or a net are common ways of distributing the light evenly. You will find the basics on this in the Growpedia.
Outdoor Growing
Outside, the compact indoor plant becomes a giant: according to Vision Seeds, Tom Kush OG reaches up to 3 m and needs a lot of space. The manufacturer states up to 1,200 g per plant and a harvest in October, without narrowing the date down further. It expressly recommends growing in open ground to growers with outdoor experience. Sturdy supports and a sunny, sheltered location are a must at this size. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Tom Kush OG
According to Vision Seeds, Tom Kush OG smells earthy, of pine and sour lemon, with woody undertones. The breeder calls the flavour classic Kush: intense, spicy and tart. It describes the strain as extremely resinous and rich in terpenes but does not list individual terpenes. The manufacturer does not state a lab terpene profile. Vision Seeds describes the effect as deeply relaxing, calming and sedating – a strain that grounds you and lets you switch off, and therefore belongs more in the evening. With 22 to 25% THC and a low CBD content, Tom Kush OG is no lightweight, in the manufacturer's words. How strong the effect is in an individual case depends on dose and individual tolerance.
Note: Effect information is based on manufacturer data and user experience and does not constitute medical advice.
