Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of True Gold OG
According to Anesia Seeds, True Gold OG combines a native Kush from Afghanistan with Bruce Banner #3, which the breeder calls its famous cup winner. The result is an Indica-dominant hybrid; the manufacturer does not state exact proportions of Indica and Sativa. The appearance described by the manufacturer fits the name: the dense, heavy flowers are covered in sticky, honey-like resin and, together with the honey-brown pistils, turn into golden-yellow nuggets in late flowering. Anesia gives the THC content as a measured 27% and places it at the upper end of the spectrum; the breeder does not state a CBD value. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. You will also find the second parent in our range: Bruce Banner 3 by Anesia Seeds.
Who Is True Gold OG For?
True Gold OG is robust to grow and strong in effect. It suits:
- Beginners who, according to the manufacturer, can bring in big harvests even without much experience
- Experienced growers who want to get the maximum out of a potent Indica
- Indoor growers who would like to harvest after 55 to 63 days of flowering
- Outdoor gardeners in cooler, northern locations
- Consumers with a high tolerance who like sweet, fruity strains
It is less suitable for occasional consumers: 27% THC is a great deal, and the manufacturer expressly recommends the strain to users with a high tolerance. You can find more strains for getting started under cannabis seeds for beginners.
Growing True Gold OG: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Anesia Seeds states a short flowering time of 55 to 63 days. At 90 to 130 cm the plants stay medium-tall and grow bushy, almost spherical, with many side shoots. Under the right conditions, the manufacturer states around 500 g/m². The strain can be grown in soil as well as in hydroponics and, according to Anesia, can also be grown by beginners; according to the manufacturer, experienced growers bring it to its maximum. Because the flowers become huge, dense and heavy, a net or stakes as well as good air movement in the dense foliage help. The tips for beginners in the Growpedia offer an introduction to climate, feeding and training.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, True Gold OG grows 120 to 160 cm tall; as the yield, the manufacturer states 750 g per plant. It does best in a place where it gets plenty of sunlight. Anesia describes the strain as versatile and robust, so that it can also be grown in cooler northern climate zones. Depending on which figure you go by, harvest falls in mid to late September. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of True Gold OG
According to Anesia Seeds, the aroma is intensely fruity with clear hints of sweet strawberries; the fact sheet also lists sweets and mango. The manufacturer describes the smoke as pleasantly smooth, sweet and extremely fruity. It does not give a lab terpene profile. Anesia portrays the effect as a mix of strong head and body effects that set in quickly and last a few hours. At a measured 27% THC, True Gold OG is very potent; the breeder expressly recommends it to users with a high tolerance. If you have little experience with strong strains, start with a very small amount and wait for the effect. How intense it is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
