Manufacturer Information
Genetics & Origin of Amnesia
According to the manufacturer, Amnesia is one of the best-known and most award-winning cannabis strains of recent decades; it was introduced in the 1990s. The version from Super Strains, formerly Hy-Pro Seeds, is a Sativa-dominant hybrid and goes back to a Haze selection that the breeder gives as Amnesia × Lennon. It does not state exact Indica and Sativa percentages. The THC content is about 25%, the CBD content about 4%. Super Strains describes the strain as a multiple Cannabis Cup winner without listing the individual awards. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod – so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched to 12/12. For comparison with other breeders, you will find in our range, for example, Amnesia Haze by Nirvana and Amnesia by Vision Seeds.
Who Is Amnesia For?
Amnesia is a high-yielding Haze classic that rewards patience. It suits:
- Beginners who are looking for a robust Sativa that is low-maintenance according to the manufacturer, and who have time to spare
- Indoor growers who grow in a Sea of Green
- Yield-focused gardeners with an eye on 550 to 650 g/m²
- Lovers of sweet-spicy Haze aromas
- Consumers who appreciate a clear, stimulating high for the daytime
It is less suitable for regions with a short summer, because outdoors it only ripens at the end of October, and for anyone looking for a mild strain. You can find more uncomplicated strains under cannabis seeds for beginners.
Growing Amnesia: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
Indoors, according to Super Strains, Amnesia grows medium-tall to tall and flowers for about 10 weeks – that is longer than with many hybrids and needs to be planned for. The manufacturer states 550 to 650 g/m². According to its information, the low leaf density makes the strain ideal for Sea of Green methods; it also describes it as mould- and pest-resistant, robust and low-maintenance. Plan the room height generously and switch to 12/12 in good time so that the plants do not get too tall. A carbon filter makes sense given the strong aroma. You will find tips for your first run in the Growpedia for beginners.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, according to the manufacturer, Amnesia can grow up to 250 cm tall and deliver up to 1,000 g per plant. Harvest is at the end of October – that requires a long, dry autumn and is a real risk in cooler locations. Super Strains recommends sunny spots and speaks of very high productivity given sufficient light. Supports for the tall plants are advisable. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Amnesia
According to the manufacturer, Amnesia smells sweet with spicy notes and a hint of liquorice. Super Strains describes the flavour as creamy-sweet with floral and lemony undertones. The breeder does not state a lab terpene profile. It gives the effect as clear, euphoric and inspiring – a cerebral high that it recommends for creative activities and sociable get-togethers and describes as a typical wake-and-bake treat. At about 25% THC, Amnesia is very potent; according to the manufacturer, the CBD content is about 4%. Especially if you still have little experience of consumption, you should keep the dose low. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
