Genetics & Origin of Auto White Widow
Auto White Widow brings White Widow, one of the best-known Dutch classics, into an autoflowering format. To do this, Royal Queen Seeds crossed White Widow with an autoflowering strain and deliberately developed the line further over several years in order to combine stability and the typical White Widow experience with considerably faster ripening. The result consists of 40% each of Sativa and Indica and 20% Ruderalis. According to the breeder, many traits of the original are retained: dark green, broad leaves and a heavy resin coating. The THC content is around 14%, and the manufacturer calls the CBD content medium, without a figure. The seeds are feminised. If you are looking for the photoperiod form of the classic, you will find, for example, White Widow by Dutch Passion in our range.
Who Is Auto White Widow For?
Auto White Widow is a small, fast strain without great demands. It suits:
- Beginners looking for a robust, low-maintenance autoflower
- Growers with little space – indoors it stays at 40 to 80 cm
- Balcony and terrace gardeners who would like to grow inconspicuously
- Impatient growers who want to harvest around 75 days after germination
- Consumers who prefer a moderate THC content of around 14%
If you are looking for maximum potency, you are less well served with around 14% THC. For larger projects, the strain is also available in large packs – see Bulk Seeds.
Growing Auto White Widow: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
As an autoflower, Auto White Widow flowers by itself; the light cycle does not need to be switched. Royal Queen Seeds states a harvest around 10 to 12 weeks after germination and elsewhere speaks of 75 days – in each case, what is meant is the entire time from seedling to harvest. Indoors, the plants grow 40 to 80 cm tall and, according to the manufacturer, yield 400 to 450 g/m². The strain is considered low-maintenance and robust. It is best to put the seeds straight into the final pot, because in such a short cycle every repotting costs time. The tips for beginners provide help for the first run.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Auto White Widow grows 50 to 110 cm tall and, according to Royal Queen Seeds, yields 190 to 240 g per plant. Because of its low height, the manufacturer recommends it for balconies, terraces and inconspicuous spots. Schedule sowing for the warm, bright time of year. More strains for outdoors can be found under automatic seeds outdoor. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Auto White Widow
According to Royal Queen Seeds, the scent of Auto White Widow is sweet and sour, with a fresh citrus note. For the flavour, the manufacturer cites a slightly earthy base with sweet, lemony undertones. Overall, the aroma is milder than that of the original but retains the typical White Widow character. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. It describes the effect as noticeably Indica-influenced: physically relaxing, slightly stoned and pleasantly calming, yet not too sedating. Royal Queen Seeds speaks of the classic White Widow stone in a more compact, faster form. The manufacturer gives the THC content as around 14% and the CBD content as medium. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
