Genetics & Origin of Sherbet Queen
Royal Queen Seeds gives the genetic background of Sherbet Queen as Pink Panties × Sunset Sherbet. The breeder emphasises its closeness to Girl Scout Cookies: Sherbet Queen is said to share genes with this strain and to be a direct descendant. With 85% Indica and 15% Sativa it is clearly Indica-dominant; according to the data sheet the THC content is 24%, and the CBD content is low. What is unusual for such Indica-heavy genetics, according to the manufacturer, is the high, in which uplifting and creative traits are to the fore. Visually, light orange pistils stand out. The seeds are feminised and photoperiod, so flowering only begins after the light cycle is switched. If you would like to compare the Cookies line, you will find Girl Scout Cookies by Barney's Farm in our range, and from the Royal Queen Seeds catalogue also Wedding Gelato.
Who Is Sherbet Queen For?
Sherbet Queen is a low-maintenance Indica with an unusually alert high. It suits:
- Beginners, for whom the manufacturer describes growing it as a simple undertaking
- Experienced growers looking for an uncomplicated side project
- Growers with limited room height, as the plants reach 80 to 120 cm indoors
- Outdoor gardeners in a warm, Mediterranean climate
- Consumers who like fruity aromas and a high that is creative and relaxing at the same time
If you are mainly after maximum harvest quantities, this is less the right choice – the manufacturer itself speaks of a slightly below-average yield. More low-maintenance strains are listed under cannabis seeds for beginners.
Growing Sherbet Queen: Indoor & Outdoor
Indoor Growing
According to Royal Queen Seeds, the flowering phase lasts 7 to 9 weeks. Indoors the plants grow 80 to 120 cm tall; the data sheet states 450 to 525 g/m². Elsewhere, by contrast, the manufacturer describes the harvest quantity as modest and slightly below average – so calculate rather conservatively. In return, the strain requires only very little care in growth and flowering, and the breeder describes its resistance to mould as good. It nevertheless advises paying attention to humidity indoors. Royal Queen Seeds does not name specific training techniques. You will find the basics on climate and humidity in the Growpedia for beginners.
Outdoor Growing
Outdoors, Sherbet Queen grows 140 to 180 cm tall. According to the manufacturer, it is ready for harvest at the end of September or the beginning of October; the data sheet names October as the harvest month. Royal Queen Seeds gives the yield as 450 to 500 g per plant. A warm climate is recommended – in Mediterranean locations, outdoor growing is said to be a pleasure. In cooler regions a sunny, sheltered spot helps. Only grow where it is legal to do so.
Effect, Aroma & Flavour of Sherbet Queen
According to Royal Queen Seeds, Sherbet Queen smells of forest fruits; for the flavour the manufacturer describes earthy notes, while the shop data speaks of creamy-sweet fruit. The manufacturer does not give a lab terpene profile. According to the manufacturer, the high is intense and untypical for a strain that is 85% Indica-dominant: it does calm the body, but uplifting, energetic and creative traits are to the fore, so that you can stay productive. In the data sheet Royal Queen Seeds sums up the effect as heady and relaxed; to appreciate its complexity, it says, a whole afternoon is needed. With 24% THC the strain is very potent. How intense the effect is depends on dose and individual tolerance.
